Maris clarifies Anthony not involved in her breakup with Rico

After Maris Racal confirmed to the public that she and Rico Blanco have separated, the actress immediately clarified that her on-screen partner Anthony Jennings had nothing to do with their breakup.
During the Star Magic press conference held on Friday, July 12, 2024, Maris made public the sad ending of her five-year relationship with Rico.
Kapamilya actress-singer reveals, “Rico and I are over.
“It’s fresh. It’s been weeks, loneliest and emptiest weeks I’ve ever experienced in my life.”
No third party INVOLVED
Following Maris’ public announcement of her breakup with Rivermaya vocalist Rico, she said she knew Anthony’s name would inevitably be implicated.
That’s why she wants to make it clear right now that her relationship with Anthony had nothing to do with her and Rico’s decision to break up.
The actress clarified, “Anthony is out of the picture.
“It’s just mainly me and Rico. Mainly me, I’m the issue.”
Maris and Anthony first teamed up in the defunct Kapamilya series Can’t Buy Me Love .

Because of their delightful and thrilling chemistry on-screen as Snoop (Anthony) and Irene (Maris), they formed a duo called SnoRene.
After the series, they worked on a series of projects together.
This includes their Netflix social series Bida/Bida and endorsements from all sides.

MARIS ASKS THE PUBLIC NOT TO BLAME RICO
Given what she is currently going through, Maris asked the public to respect her and Rico’s decision.
He also pleaded not to shift the blame to Rico.

She said she would be even more hurt and devastated if she saw her ex-boyfriend suffering because of her decision.
Ani Maris: “This is the only time I will talk about it. Since while we’re at it, I would like to humbly ask the public to look at us, Rico and I, with understanding and love because we’re both grieving.
“People’s opinions can’t be controlled, but please don’t direct your hate towards Rico because he’s too precious for that.

REASON FOR THEIR BREAKUP
Maris did not directly say the reason for their breakup, but she did mention some decisions she wanted to make in life, which could be the reason for their separation.
Although they were happy, in love, and satisfied with each other, it came to a point where Maris’s preferences and priorities changed, something she immediately told Rico.

“Sa five years namin together, we were always on the same page.
“I don’t know what happened to me. Maybe I turned to the next page and saw a new perspective sa life. I had visions of who I want to become, and how I want to evolve.

“I’m so curious about the world and the truth is, I am going through changes.
“And alam naman natin yung change is either good or bad. But what I hate about change is it’s inevitable.
“You can’t escape him. There’s nothing you can do but to confront it and face it.”
“So, yeah, I told Rico about it. I told him my problems and my issues.
“And he took it like a man. He took it like a man.”

After talking in depth, she and Rico decided to separate completely and Maris would prioritize the things she wanted to do without the musician by her side.

Although their decision was difficult, their love and respect for each other prevailed until the end.
Ani Maris: “It was a very difficult talk, cause I love him so much and he loves me.
“But I have so many questions about my life and how will I go on in life with him, and I have so many questions about me and my sense of self.
“It was very difficult but a very polite separation.
“Up to the very end of the relationship, it was still full of love and understanding.
