Vice Ganda expressed his frustration over the hot issue of corruption in the country through a serious joke.
Vice is currently in London, along with other Kapamilya singers and stars, for ASAP in England which will be held in Birmingham on Sunday, August 30, 2025.
On his Instagram Story this Thursday, August 28, Vice posted a photo of the food they shared served on the table.
It includes his story about their food.
He and his friends are saving money on their AirBNB accommodation in London because things are expensive.
They said they went shopping on the first day and cooked instead of eating out.
On the third day, they just heated up the leftover adobo.
But Vice said at the end, he suddenly remembered the millions in taxes he pays every year that are only shared by “blatant thieves.”

VICE GANDA TOP TAXPAYER IN 2024
Vice Ganda’s hugot has a basis because he was honored on March 4, 2025 as one of the top taxpayers in Quezon City in the year 2024.
The comedian-TV host attended the ceremony organized by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) held at a mall in Quezon City.
In his speech, Vice said that it is the obligation of every Filipino to pay taxes.
Along with the obligation of citizens to pay taxes, it is also the obligation of those in government to answer the question of where the taxes paid by taxpayers like him go.
He said: “Let’s pay taxes, we are obligated to pay taxes and we must do that.”
“And after we pay taxes, we also have the right to obligate those who will handle the taxes we pay, right?
“If they oblige us, we should really comply because that is an obligation.”
“When it’s an obligation, when it’s called an obligation, you can’t do anything, I have to do it because it’s an obligation.”

“This is not a privilege, it is an obligation.
“So if it is our obligation to pay, it is also our right to obligate those who receive and use the money we pay because it is not easy how we earn the taxes we pay…”
He further reminded: “And because we pay taxes, we also have the right to ask, ‘Where is the tax we paid?’
“Because the mission of the BIR, isn’t it, is to use money for nation building and to uplift the lives of the Filipino people.”
“Is that right?” Vice asked the BIR Quezon City officials who were with him on stage.
The TV host-comedian continued: “That’s the mission. That’s why they collect taxes from us because that’s their mission.”
“So after we pay taxes, we ask, ‘Where is the quality of life? Where are the projects?’
“’Where is that bridge? Why did the bridge in Isabela collapse?’
“That is our right. Is that right?” he asked the BIR officials again.

Vice told the audience: “We have the right to question, speak up, and protest because our money was used for that.”
“We all have an obligation to pay taxes because we are the ones who benefit from it.”
“And it is also the BIR’s obligation to collect taxes, so whether we like it or not, we have to pay.”
“Because they have to use it to uplift the lives of the Filipino people.
“And after we pay our taxes, we will be the ones asking, ‘Where is the tax we paid?’”
VICO, ANNE, NADINE, BIANCA, CARLA call out corrupt officials
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto was one of the first to call attention to corrupt officials involved in flood control projects in his area.
Mayor Vico specifically named the couple Sarah Discaya and Curlee Discaya who own St. Gerrard Construction, one of the Top 15 contractors awarded a two-figure peso contract by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for anomalous flood control projects.

Carla Abellana followed, revealing where the Discayas got the money they used to buy over 40 luxury vehicles parked in their spacious parking lot in Pasig where she had already taped.
Anne Curtis, Nadine Lustre, and TV host Bianca Gonzalez could no longer hide their disappointment over the shameless theft of government funds by some leaders just to enrich themselves.
Anne said in her message to X, “When [ma’am] Jessica Soho said, “It’s not the flood that will sink our country but [greed].” Sick.”
Nadine, on the other hand, is angry about politicians’ embezzlement of the people’s money.
He said: “Then of course it’s infuriating and sad to see that the taxes we pay go to just that…”
Meanwhile, Bianca emphasized the luxuries of the corrupt politician’s son.

Bianca’s tweet (published as is) reads, “my feed filled with posts on the lavish lifestyle of kids of corrupt officials…. and here we are, those without generational wealth or stolen wealth, who scrape by every day, who are sometimes even ashamed to post about travel or purchases because they might be “arrogant” about it. How is this?”
