it’s been two years since he got the chance to work with co-star Nora Aunor in the still unreleased film project Ligalig, but actor Allen Dizon revealed to PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview why he will never forget the moments he witnessed with the late actress on the set even when the cameras weren’t rolling.
“I worked with Guy for a film, Ligalig . It hasn’t been released yet. I know that Ligalig was one of the last films he did that we did. That was the first and last time (that I worked with him). It’s actually fun, he’s a fun person to work with because every time we’re shooting, he gives away his money to people, to the crew.
“Every day, there is a raffle. Every day, there is a game that has no value but is just to give money. Do you know that? I thought, ate Guy is so kind, so very generous,” he recalled in an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN during the premiere of his latest film Fatherland last April 22.
The talented actor admitted that he witnessed firsthand the unending generosity of the country’s one and only Superstar.
“You know what they say, it’s not like he doesn’t have any money anymore, but if someone comes to him, he’ll give it to them. It seems like those kinds of people are becoming less and less these days. It seems like those who really help are serious about helping people in need. It seems like Ate Guy’s heart is also broken, right?” he added.
After working on Ligalig, Allen said he was able to learn a lot about how to better himself as an actor and a person because of his interactions with Nora.
“So, you can learn a lot from her and I know, artists like me will continue what ate Guy started, which is how we give to people, how we help those in need, and unite. That’s all, that’s what I see ate Guy wants, to love everyone. Especially in the showbiz industry, to help everyone. That time that I was with her, I learned a lot from her. You know how much she loves you as a co-actor, how she acts when the camera is rolling. She’s one of a kind and I know that many people really regret the loss of ate Guy,” he explained.
After attending Nora’s wake, Allen shared why he had mixed feelings seeing everyone else who paid their respects to one of the country’s most popular national artists.
“I went to ate Guy’s wake and of course it was sad. It’s so funny and sad because so many people loved him. So many people he helped, so many people he made happy and joyful. He changed the world of showbiz, he changed the showbiz industry because of what he shared with people. All his blessings, he shared with people, with his loved ones, with his fans,” he said.
Even after more than 27 years in showbiz, Allen shared that he considers his film with Nora Aunor a definite acting piece, “Yes, because I’m with my sister Guy. Imagine being with my sister Guy so you have to be good too, you have to improve.”
