Billy Crawford reveals he wasn’t at Coleen Garcia’s side for birth of their second child: ‘Hindi na umabot’
Kapuso actor and host Billy Crawford revealed that he wasn’t present at the birth of his second child, Austin, with wife Coleen Garcia. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda earlier this week, he recalled how fast everything happened–– from the actress going into labor and then giving birth.
Coleen gave birth to their second child last August 17 to the delight of their fans who have been waiting for their updates.
Billy shared that the plan was for his wife to undergo a water birth just like what she had with their first child, Amari. Everything didn’t go as planned as Coleen didn’t reach the pool when she gave birth to Austin who was an en caul baby (born with an intact amniotic sac). “Sobrang bilis ng pangyayari kasi yung unang text ng pinsan ni Coleen sa akin, sabi niya ate is going into labor. 12 to 24 hours pa yan, okay. Few minutes later, ate gave birth. Yun yung di ko alam kung ano gagawin ko but I just feel so happy, so blessed,” he said.
Unfortunately for the Kapuso actor, he was still on his way home when this was all happening and he wasn’t there when his wife gave birth to their second son.

“This second time, he didn’t make it to the pool. Actually, I didn’t make it either. I wasn’t there when Austin was born. I was on the airplane on my way back home,” he shared.
He then jokingly shared how their eldest child, Amari, would tease him everyday as he didn’t make it back home in time. Despite this, he expressed how happy he is as both Coleen and Austin are both safe.
“Amari, he didn’t ignore me. He told me every day that you weren’t there when Austin was born. That’s why it hurts. It hurts to talk to my son but you know it was such a blessing,” he added.
Meanwhile, Billy expressed how excited Amari is to be an older brother to Austin. Their first born would wash his hands meticulously with alcohol before touching their newborn child.
In the same interview, the Kapuso star is grateful towards his wife who he gives credit for as she “sacrificed” her life for their family.
“That woman has given up everything. Sacrificed her entire life for our kids and for me especially. Yung support system ko, I have to do and be more for her and for them,” he ended.
Coleen Garcia welcomes second child with Billy Crawford, opens up about birthing experience that had those in the room ‘shookt’
Coleen Garcia announced that she recently welcomed her second child with husband, Billy Crawford.
“On August 17, we welcomed our beautiful baby boy, Austin, into the world. And it was the experience of a lifetime. The plan was another water birth—this time in @stlukesmedicalcenter,” she posted on her Instagram page.
The actress opened up about her birthing experience, sharing: “We decided to go to the hospital when I was already in active labor, but after getting checked, we thought it was gonna take a lot longer since my water hadn’t broken yet, I was only 3cm dilated, and contractions weren’t painful or uncomfortable despite being so close together for hours. I was still walking around, killing time, feeling totally normal.”
Coleen was then brought to the delivery room but what happened next took her by surprise.

“After some time, they did start to get painful. I was then brought to the delivery room right away. When we got to the room, I stood up from the wheelchair, took a couple of steps toward the bed, then suddenly felt a tiny urge to push while I was still standing. I did once, just a little, for relief—until I felt his head coming out. I had to stop mid-push and say the baby was coming! My mom quickly got down to check, and true enough, part of his head was already out! On the next push, he slipped out so quickly that she was the one who caught him!” she revealed.
Coleen recounted that it only took two pushes to deliver baby Austin.
“In just two quick, silent, and surprisingly painless pushes, he was born EN CAUL(!) straight into her arms. It all happened so fast—I was supposed to get an IE, dim the lights, play some music, soak in the tub.. Instead, I gave birth like two minutes after entering the delivery room. I was still standing there in the same spot, looking down at everything—everyone in the room completely shookt—and all I could say was: ‘Well.. that happened.’
I was laughing about it, while my mom was stunned and holding the baby in disbelief,” she shared.
The actress relayed that this birthing experience was completely different from what she had with her first one.
“My first birth caught me off guard and left me with some trauma because I didn’t know what to expect. This birth was the opposite. I was prepared with things I packed but never used, techniques I didn’t really have the time to apply, and plans that didn’t unfold the way I imagined. Both births were special and beautiful in their own ways, and God carried me through each of those journeys just as He always does,” she remarked.
She added: “I felt His presence all throughout, and it shielded me from fear and anxiety, reminding me once again that His plan is always greater than mine. ”
