Marian also denies reports that she is pregnant

I was hurt by her because if I were asked that question, I would answer, ‘I don’t know about that’ or ‘I’m not in a position to answer that.’ There was a maliciousness in her smile. I admit, I was hurt,” says Marian Rivera about Karylle’s answer when asked on The Buzz if Marian is pregnant. 

Last to arrive si Marian Rivera for the second grand press conference of Desperadas 2, one of the two entries of Regal Entertainment in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, at noon today, December 15, at Imperial Palace Suites.

Directed by Joel Lamangan, the cast is almost complete including her four “sisters”: Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado, and Ogie Alcasid; as well as their leading men Jay-R, Christian Vasquez, TJ Trinidad, Will Devaughn, and Carlo Guevara.

Marian’s leg was still in a cast and she went to her doctor to get it fixed. As Marian sat next to Rufa Mae, an unnoticed incident occurred. Opposite her was one of the veteran writers who, just before Marian arrived, was angrily recounting an incident regarding Marian’s alleged “plastic surgery.” The writer promised to tell the actress this face-to-face if she ever came.

It so happened that when Marian arrived, she was seated right in front of the writer at the presidential table. When they made eye contact, the writer bluntly said, “You’re a plastic surgeon!” before standing up.

Rufa Mae, who witnessed the incident, was also surprised. But because they were still at the presidential table and the question-and-answer portion was ongoing, they couldn’t stand up and ask questions.

In Karylle’s interview with  The Buzz  yesterday, December 14, Dingdong Dantes’ ex-girlfriend just smiled when Boy Abunda asked her if Marian was pregnant. So the last question Marian asked at the press conference was if she was pregnant, as reported. ( Click here to read related article .

Marian smiled first and then passed her first statement off as a joke. “Can I just smile in response?” she said.

Then she answered face to face, “I am not pregnant.”

He continued, “I was hurt by her [Karylle] because if I were asked that question, I would answer, ‘I don’t know about that’ or ‘I’m not in a position to answer that.’ There was a maliciousness in her smile. I admit, I was hurt.”

Marian never once mentioned Karylle’s name. She only called her “her” and “him.”

This is where Marian’s voice began to crack and her eyes turned red.

“I was really offended,” she said. “I’m not stupid and I’m certainly not young enough to make a mistake like getting pregnant. I have a lot more to do in my career and if that happens, I’ll be the one to tell you. Also, if Dingdong and I have a boyfriend, I’ll be the first to admit it because I’ve been proud of everyone I’ve had.”

He added, “She [Karylle] can answer because she knows something. I hope she didn’t just pass it off as a smile.”

The interview got even more heated when a veteran writer commented on the microphone that Karylle might have thought this because something might have been going on between her and Dingdong before they broke up.

The press reacted so much to this statement that the question-and-answer session was quickly cut short. Marian was the one the press mobbed.
