Kapamilya TV host Robi Domingo is feeling a mixture of joy and sadness right now.

On January 6, 2024, Saturday, he married his long-time girlfriend Maiqui Pineda at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of San Isidro Labrador, in Brgy. Poblacion, Pulilan, Bulacan.

But unbeknownst to Robi, that morning his beloved grandmother also passed away.

On X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday, January 9, Robi shared how he learned of the passing of his grandmother, whom he called “Mother.”

It is said that her family hid this so that her supposed happy marriage to Maiqui would not be tainted with sadness.

After the ceremony, Robi’s mother confessed that her grandmother was no longer there.

Attached to a throwback photo with his grandmother and a picture of him and Maiqui while they were on the hill, this is Robi’s message (published as is): “Bittersweet.

“January 6 was the happiest day of my life. My heart was filled with immense gratitude -from preps in the morning, to the ceremony, to the reception which lasted until dawn.

“As I was about to leave the place, my mom was sobbing as she tried to tell me that my Lola passed away that same morning.

“Apparently, my family didn’t tell us so that our focus was our magical day.”

Along with his grief, Robi wholeheartedly thanked his “Mother” for her love and care when he was young.

The Kapamilya TV host also wished that wherever his grandmother is now, she is happy with her grandfather, who has also passed away.

Ani Robi, “”Ina”, as I fondly called her, took care of me especially when I was a toddler.

“I loved how she made her ube halaya and Leche flan sa llanera.

“Rest in peace, ina. Please look after us together with ama.

“Thank you, and we love you.”

In the end, Robi thanked everyone who sent congratulations on his and Maiqui’s wedding.

Mensahe niya, “We wanted to thank a lot of people during the wedding but it has been a rollercoaster ride for us these past few days.

“Our hearts are happy, but we apologize for the delay. We’ll just take a breather from all the happenings.”
