Kenneth Walker Talks Under-Center Runs, Pass Game Role, and Revenge Game Against Seahawks

Kenneth Walker 'privately irked' by Seattle Seahawks before ditching Super Bowl winners for Kansas City ChiefsKansas City Chiefs’ new running back, Kenneth Walker, shared more about his preferences and outlook for the upcoming season in an interview on Up & Adams on FanDuel TV. Walker, who joined the Chiefs as their lead ball carrier, opened up about his style of play, his chemistry with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and even hinted at a personal grudge against his former team, the Seattle Seahawks.

Walker’s Running Style: Under-Center is His Favorite

AlbertBreer believes Kenneth Walker III could land with the Chiefs in free agency. "While drafting Jeremiyah Love would be ideal, there's no assurance he'll be there at No. 9. It's also worthWalker, known for his strong and efficient running, discussed his preference for running plays under center, as opposed to the shotgun formation. “I can do both,” Walker said, “but obviously, my favorite is under. I feel like I can see the field better and everything. But whatever system they want me in or situation they put me in, I feel like I can make a play in anything.”

The Chiefs’ offensive scheme, which leaned heavily on shotgun formations last season, may see some adjustments. Despite ranking 29th in under-center plays during the 2025 season, the addition of Walker could lead to a shift in how the Chiefs utilize their running game, especially with the return of Eric Bieniemy as offensive coordinator. Walker’s preference for under-center runs could influence the team’s offensive strategy in the coming season.

Building Chemistry with Mahomes

He’s real good at being detailed with the whole team… I feel our chemistry is just going to keep building.”

As the Chiefs continue to develop their offensive dynamic, Walker’s ability to contribute both as a runner and in the passing game will be crucial in expanding the team’s offensive versatility.

Bieniemy’s High Standards and Intensity

Eric Bieniemy's intensity sparks discussion as Washington Commanders players voice concerns | MarcaWalker also discussed his first impression of Bieniemy, whom he described as “intense” after their initial dinner meeting. “From the first night I met him, we were just meeting up, going to dinner. He was talking about stuff that I did wrong on the field and just talking about everything I need to be detailed at. I knew what I was getting into when I met him.”

Bieniemy, known for his high standards and intense coaching style, is expected to push Walker to reach his full potential. “He wants the best for everybody, but he has high standards,” Walker added. “That’s good if you want to get better.”

A Revenge Game Against Seattle?

When the conversation turned to his former team, the Seahawks, Walker’s tone shifted. After Seattle opted not to re-sign him and instead drafted running back Jadarian Price in the first round, Walker made it clear that he’s looking forward to facing his former squad. The Chiefs are scheduled to play the Seahawks in Seattle during the 2026 season, and Walker hopes that game will come early in the season.

“It should be early on in the season,” Walker said with a hint of excitement. “I’m looking forward to seeing players I shared the field with in winning a championship… and nobody else.”

Walker made it clear that when it comes to his former teammates, he’s not interested in much more than a quick hello: “I would dap up all my teammates, and that’s about it,” he said bluntly.

High Stakes for Walker in 2026

With a lot to prove and a personal vendetta against the Seahawks, Walker’s 2026 season with the Chiefs is shaping up to be an exciting one. His preference for under-center runs and his growing relationship with Mahomes have the potential to make him a key player in the Chiefs’ offensive scheme. Additionally, his anticipated revenge game against Seattle adds another layer of intrigue to an already high-stakes season.

Fans can expect Walker to bring energy, intensity, and plenty of motivation as he takes the field for the Chiefs, with a clear focus on both individual success and contributing to the team’s championship aspirations.
