After so many years, Katherine Luna apologized   to  Coco Martin .

On February 17, 2025, Katherine was featured in an  exclusive interview  with Julius Babao for the TV5 broadcaster’s YouTube channel.

Here, Katherine broke her long silence about her alleged child with Coco.

KATHERINE LUNA ON MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING WITH COCO MARTIN

Julius first asked Katherine how she and Coco got into a relationship.

Katherine clarified that it wasn’t a relationship but rather “mutual understanding.” They had previously worked on an indie movie.

He said: “Coco is kind. Of course, I was like, ‘Pogi!’ I used to love pogi.

“I want to be with him. You can feel there’s a mutual understanding.”

Coco was reportedly sleeping at Katherine’s place.

Later, their friendship suddenly waned. They saw each other less and less.

Then Katherine met a Chinese businessman, and something happened between them.

This was followed by a reunion with Coco, who was not yet very famous.

Three months later, Katherine discovered that she was pregnant.

WHO’S THE FATHER OF KATHERINE’S CHILD?

Katherine is not sure who the father of the child in her womb is.

Katherine reportedly informed Coco that this might be the father of the child she was carrying.

Katherine praised Coco for not walking away from her after she told her off, even though the actor was already in a relationship with someone else.

When Katherine gave birth to a baby girl, Coco even visited and held the actress’s child.

Coco said that the baby looked just like her when she was little.

Katherine thought Coco meant that he was claiming to be the father of the actress’s child.

“As for me, I’m the year’s asyumera. I assume,” said Katherine.

But Katherine insisted that after giving birth to her child, she did not ask for any support from Coco.

But as the child grew up, Katherine noticed that he was starting to look more and more like the Chinese businessman she had spent the night with.

This is where Katherine realized that Coco was not the father of her child but the businessman.

But he didn’t admit that to the public.

Katherine said, “He’s not the father. It’s just hard to take it back. First of all, there’s a child, right?”

When Katherine’s daughter was about three years old, there were times when Coco would borrow the child.

Katherine was not aware that Coco and her son were seeing each other.

Coco is also said to be talking to Katherine’s mother without her knowing.

Katherine suspects that this may have been Coco’s chance to get the child’s DNA tested.

COCO IS NOT THE FATHER BASED ON DNA

This issue was addressed by Coco in an interview with Boy Abunda on  The Buzz , ABS-CBN’s defunct showbiz talk show, in 2014.

In that interview, Coco expressed resentment over the fact that she was judged for being pregnant and that she was not being upfront about it.

Those were the times when Katherine spoke in interviews and accused Coco.

The actor also seconded Katherine’s statement when the actress said she was pregnant, Coco’s question was what support she needed to provide.

Coco also said that she borrowed the child and took that opportunity to have her DNA tested.

Coco said in  The Buzz  interview: “Well, we talked to the grandmother and she agreed to have a DNA test.

“The result is negative. The child is not my child.”

“On my part, I want to adopt the child. Of course, it’s not his fault.”

“I don’t even know where to go. What if now, the hope he had hoped for the most, is gone.”

KATHERINE ADMITS HER FAULT

According to Katherine, she used to refuse interviews about the issue.

Her reason was, “I don’t know how to tell her [Coco] because I’m so embarrassed.”

Coco even wanted to be with the child, but Katherine refused because she already knew that it was not the actor’s child.

Katherine also reportedly considered the welfare of her then-young child regarding her real father.

Julius Babao mentioned in his interview with Katherine that the actress’ mistake was not admitting to Coco that he was not the father of the child.

Katherine explained: “I don’t know how to take it back. I don’t know how to explain myself.”

“Because this is what I said, huh.”

According to Katherine, even before the DNA testing took place, she was already keeping quiet.

He admitted: “I chose to hide from people. I chose not to answer the issue. I chose to just disappear from the scene because I was ashamed.”

“Because I don’t know what face to put on. I don’t know how to say I was wrong, that I made a mistake.”

Aside from that challenge, Katherine said she thought about what effect it would have on her son.

“There were sins, I made mistakes, but I had no intention of ruining his life for my son,” the actress said about Coco.

“I was young [then], I easily believed rumors, that’s what I believed.”

Katherine also shared that she contacted the businessman who is the real father of her child, and he told her that they had a child together.

The businessman did not respond, saying that his wife was now an actress.

KATHERINE APOLOGIZES TO COCO

Katherine is now happy for the success that Coco is hoping for.

He said: “Despite what happened after the issues between us, I am happy for him.

“He deserves that because when he was still in the indie scene, he pushed it.”

“He persevered to get to the top. That’s the kind of person who is really persistent in life, determined.”

Katherine was asked if she had a message for Coco.

He replied: “I am so ashamed of whatever happened… what I said before.

“I hope one day you can forgive me.”

“I want to thank you because unlike others there, when it’s said to him [the child], no one cares.”

But when she told Coco that she was pregnant, the actor didn’t walk away, but instead made an effort to be responsible.

“But then, I’m sorry, I made a mistake because of my youth, because of the wrong I did in the past.”

“And you, your life is in chaos. I beg your pardon.”

“I hope you can forgive me one day,” Katherine said.

KATHERINE REVEALS WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH

Katherine is best known for her maiden indie movie in  Woman on the Breakwater  (2003) directed by the late Mario O’Hara.

Katherine won three best actress awards in the country and two abroad for her performance in this film.

He has also made several other films and appeared on television.

In Julius’ interview, Katherine revealed the heavy burden she faced in life after leaving showbiz.

The former indie actress said she left showbiz because she lost self-confidence.

In 2015, she had just given birth to her sixth child when her ex-partner borrowed it.

Their relationship was reportedly already in trouble. The man reportedly refused to return the baby.

Katherine said she took it very seriously and cried non-stop. It reportedly affected one of her eyes.

Throughout Julius’s interview, Katherine covers half of her face with her hair.

“I got sick. I had a problem with my other eye. Of course, I lost confidence in myself. I was embarrassed,” Katherine explained.

The next thing he said happened was, “I was hooked on vice.”

He admitted: “It feels like that’s all you can hold on to, that’s all you can do to find the courage, the boldness to face people.

“First, taste it. Until there is nothing, you are lost.”

FOUR YEARS IN PRISON

Another thing Katherine was going through was resentment towards her mother.

“He did something to me in the family that really made me fall a little, like… I was drowning there and couldn’t get out.”

He later admitted that it had to do with a bad investment and that all his hard work had disappeared.

He said all his savings were gone.

Katherine said she took it to heart because she was completely absorbed in working as the breadwinner.

Another difficult ordeal he went through was being imprisoned for four years.

In 2020, their house was raided and he and his then-partner were handcuffed.

Katherine said she uses drugs, but she doesn’t sell them.

He was asked what his experience was like inside the prison.

Looking back, he said: “It’s sad but I can survive because they have activities [that] I participate in.

“I’m in the kitchen. I cook for the personnel, for the prisoners.”

“I was trusted there. It wasn’t that difficult, but it was sad.”

While in prison, his mother visited him once and they had a heart-to-heart talk.

It is said that this is where Katherine poured out all her resentment towards her mother.

The mother apologized to him. They forgave each other.

That’s where Katherine’s transformation began. She says she learned to pray, which she didn’t do before.

Inside prison, he realized his mistakes and shortcomings towards his children.

He said this had a positive effect on him in terms of changing and clinging to his faith.

It was said that a “miracle” occurred because the progress of the case against him suddenly accelerated. And it was dismissed.

Katherine is said to be crying because she will be free.

KATHERINE ON BIGGEST REGRET

Despite her imprisonment, Katherine believes there is a reason why it happened.

If he hadn’t been imprisoned, he would probably be dead now or part of a large syndicate.

Katherine’s answer when asked about her biggest regret had to do with her seven children.

Katherine said, “I neglected my children. I left them to be cared for by other people.”

Katherine is currently recovering from her seven children.

“Being a father and mother, I try hard even though it’s hard… I try to provide, and I try to show them—to make them feel like they have a mother. That I’m here.”

Katherine is currently working on performing in shows such as pole dancing.
