Kapamilya star Bianca Gonzalez remains a Kapamilya as she renewed her contract with ABS-CBN earlier today. The Pinoy Big Brother host expressed how grateful she is as she’s been with the Kapamilya network for 21 years already.
Present at the contract signing were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, COO Cory Vidanes, group CFO Rick Tan, entertainment production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, and Bianca’s manager Boy Abunda.
Looking back at when she first started of her journey with ABS-CBN, Bianca shared that she had always thought that she would be working behind the scenes. The Kapamilya talent first started working with ABS-CBN as a trainee writer and a brainstormer.
“Ang first job ko sa ABS-CBN –– college pa ako noon –– tapos I took a part-time job bilang trainee writer at tsaka brainstormer. Brainstormer, basically, ‘yun ‘yung parang magme-meeting kayo [at] mag-iisip ng bagong show. At that time, kasagsagan ng reality shows in America so they wanted to do more here. Part ako ng pool na ‘yun at akala magiging direktor ako at writer, pero iba ang naging plano ng tadhana,” she recalled.

She maintained that she would never have believed that 21 years later, she would become one of the network’s top hosts. Apart from her iconic PBB hosting stint, Bianca has worked in other projects such as The Voice Kids and Entertainment Live.
“If you had told 20-year old me that I would be hosting for this long on ABS-CBN, hindi ako maniniwala, but I’m still here. The best part is, kahit na ang dami ko nang na-experience, ang dami ko nang nagawa, I still feel like ang dami ko pang pwedeng gawin,” she shared.
While she opted to go towards a different route as compared to her contemporaries who dabbled into acting, singing, and dancing, she maintained that she is happy to be hosting and sharing the stories of these celebrities.
“Imagine, after 21 years, kahit hindi ko pinasok ang acting or singing or dancing, ito lang talaga ‘yung pakiramdam ko gusto kong gawin at interesado ako. I always say, mas gusto kong ini-interview ‘yung mga artista sa pelikula kesa ako ‘yung nasa pelikula –– hindi ko talaga ma-imagine,” she said.
“Grateful ako na, imagine — pwede pala siya maging career lalo na when we started in the industry. Kapag nasa TV ka, dapat ginagawa mo lahat pero at that time, thankfully with the support of Tito Boy, who’s my manager, and even ABS-CBN, parang binigyan ako ng mga opportunities even if nga hosting lang gusto kong gawin,” she added.
Bianca is just one of the several Kapamilya talents who renewed their contract with ABS-CBN earlier this year. Just last month, fellow PBB host Robi Domingo, actress Belle Mariano, and Bela Padilla remained a solid Kapamilya as they all renewed their contracts with ABS-CBN.
