Fans Gush Over Kathryn Bernardo, Alden Richards’ Sweet Video

It’s Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards‘ world and we’re all just living in it. That seems to be the case as the two celebrities shook the Internet with some *cozy* videos together.

Kathryn and Alden are going viral as we speak after a video of them casually ~hugging~ each other was uploaded. The video was reportedly taken during a surprise birthday thrown for Kathryn by the Yap sisters, stylists Kim and Boop Yap. Note: The party was so chic and superb!

In Boop’s Instagram story, Alden was shown entering the room with a huge bouquet of red roses. He walks towards Kathryn, who welcomes him with a warm hug and the widest smile. It appeared that the actress had no idea that Alden was also a part of the surprise party. Boop’s caption said what we all felt: “Kinikilig ako. #KathDen.”

Present at the party were only some of Kath’s close friends, her family, and her glam team, which included hairstylist John Valle. Kath’s mom, Min Bernardo, also witnessed Alden’s cute surprise for Kath.

Another video also made rounds online—and this time, Kath and Alden were the definition of sweetness overload! The two were standing *too close* to each other while their friend Trina Uytingco took a pic of them. The most striking part of the video was how the two posed for Trina: Alden wrapped his arms around Kath’s shoulders and sweetly smiled at the camera. While Kath clung to Alden, closing the gap between their hug. Aww, these two!

We probably haven’t seen much of Kath and Alden interacting together since they filmed Hello, Love, Goodbye in 2019. But it seems that the Internet is very much welcoming of their sudden yet admirable public interactions recently. As soon as the videos circulated online, the hashtag #KathDen topped the Philippine trends.

A netizen wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “The way he hugged Kath!! Omg my KathDen heart.” Some netizens couldn’t hide their excitement over the fact that Kath and Alden didn’t mind their *tight hug*

One comment read, “No but can we talk about how Alden is holding Kath???? the hand placement??? the no space gaming???”

While there is a lot to still unpack about their connection at the moment, fans are not one bit hesitant to express their support for the two A-listers. “I understand Kathryn is still on the path to healing, but I’m now supporting them. Good people deserve each other!” a fan expressed online.

Another also said, “I don’t care if for promo lang. Kebs din sa issue ng orientation ni Alden. Basta kinikilig ako seeing them together!!!”

These words of support and encouragement for the two came months after Kath’s controversial breakup with Daniel Padilla. When Kath and Alden first worked together in 2019, Kath was still half of the phenomenal love team called KathNiel. Her film with Alden was the first she had done outside their 12-year-old love team.

It’s not actually the first time that Alden was spotted in an intimate gathering for Kath. ICYMI, Alden was also present during Kath’s 28th birthday in El Nido, Palawan. He attended alongside their Hello, Love, Goodbye co-stars namely Maymay Entrata, Lovely Abella, and Kakai Bautista.

To note, Hello, Love, Goodbye surpassed the other films that Kathryn did as it became the highest-grossing film in the Philippines until 2023. With that, fans have actually clamored for Kath and Alden to reunite in another film.

Thankfully, Alden has been very vocal about his willingness to work with Kathryn again. “Ako po, of course, Hello, Love, Goodbye naman po made history. At ‘yun naman din po ang clamor ng mga nakapanood—to have a part two. Ako po, ready naman ako, anytime,” the actor told PEP.ph in a December 2023 interview.

He also mentioned that he would even clear his schedule if and when a sequel to the film is confirmed. “Sabi ko, ‘Direk, kapag nag-decide kayo ng part two, ika-cancel ko munang lahat ng schedule. But then again, that’s really up to Star Cinema, kasi sila po ang producer,” Alden noted.

Alden and Kath had been spotted in gatherings post-KathNiel breakup. The Kapuso actor even expressed his support for the newly single Kapamilya actress. As Kath embraced her single era, Alden could not hide his happiness in Kath. He described Kath as someone who’s currently “coming out of her shell.”

Beaming with pride and approval, Alden talked about his connection to Kathryn. “Kita mo sa kanya eh. It manifests. The photos and videos that we see and the projects that she has been doing, really say a lot about her state of mind right now. And the condition of her life right now, she deserves that,” Alden said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

He added, “Nakakamusta naman natin siya and at the same time naman, ‘yung friendship never naman nawala ever since.”
