Even before the actor-director Coco Martin reached the peak of his popularity today, he first went through many trials and various controversies.

One of the big controversies the actor faced at the time was that he was called an irresponsible father because he allegedly neglected his daughter with Katherine Luna.

It can be remembered that in 2005, Coco Martin had a brief relationship with Katherine Luna while they were working on the movie ‘Masahista’. He is also said to be the father of her child.

But soon Coco Martin and Katherine Luna broke up, which caused him to be called a neglectful father.

Meanwhile, in an interview of Boy Abunda with Coco Martin, he declared that they were not boyfriend-girlfriend, but he admitted that something happened between them.

“We’re just in the movie together. We don’t have boyfriends. I said because of the youth, out and about, gimmick gimmick, something happened that we didn’t expect.”

In 2011, Katherine revealed that she was ready to introduce the child to Coco Martin even though the actor was not supportive after her birth.

“When I was pregnant, yes, he had… Yes, he bought me things. But when I gave birth to Nicole, nothing, nothing, I heard nothing. Since the first month.”

But in 2014, Coco Martin said that her manager advised her about getting custody of the child. He allegedly advised her to go through everything legally, including getting a DNA Test done.

The child’s grandmother and mother agreed, but the paternity test came out negative.

It is said that Coco Martin was very sad and regretful because he was ready to accept the child especially since his popularity started that year.

Apart from what he felt, he was also hurting for the boy because he thought he was his real father.
