Celebrities express prayers and well-wishes for comedian Ate Gay amid his mucoepidermoid cancer battle, offering love, support, and hope for his healing.

Comedians Allan K, Boobay, and Eric Nicolas, as well as actress Sugar Mercado, extended support and prayers for Ate Gay—Gil Morales in real life.
This was after Allan K made public during their gig at Clowns Republik Comedy Bar on Friday, September 19, 2025, that Ate Gay was suffering from cancer .
In the video uploaded to Facebook by Eric, Allan K can be seen announcing what Ate Gay is currently going through.
Her caption (published as is) included, “Sister Gay Needs Prayer…”
Sharing Eric’s video, the Eat Bulaga! host said that he has known about his fellow comedian’s illness for a long time and that he has also been planning to hold a benefit show to help Ate Gay with his medical and surgery expenses.
In the video, he can be heard saying, “I’ve always wanted to do a benefit show, but he just didn’t want to.
“She doesn’t want to bother people. She doesn’t want to ask people for anything, that’s how Ate Gay is, she’s strong, she’s resilient. She’s alone in life but she fights back.”

Allan K also said that Ate Gay herself told him that he had mucoepidermoid cancer—in the hope that it would help him find a doctor who could cure his illness.
Upon reading it, Allan K immediately felt compassion, especially when Ate Gay said she still wanted to live.

“So, I wondered what kind of illness this was. I asked questions and asked questions, but I couldn’t find anything to ask.”
“Until [Ate Gay] texted me again. [She said], ‘Maybe you know a good specialist who can operate on me.’
“’Because [my] doctor said it’s incurable. Maybe you know a good doctor who is a specialist who can operate on me.’
“’I’m still being sponsored. I still want to live.’”

According to the Mayo Clinic, mucoepidermoid cancer is a type of cancer that usually begins in the salivary glands (salivary glands, such as the parotid gland, submandibular gland, or minor salivary glands in the mouth and throat).

After Allan K’s announcement was made public, prayers and condolences immediately poured in for Ate Gay.
On Instagram this Saturday, September 20, Boobay posted a photo of himself and Ate Gay, along with his prayers for the recovery of the fellow comedian.

SUGAR MARKET TO ATE GAY: “Just fight…”
Sugar Mercado also offered prayers for Ate Gay’s recovery.
He posted on Instagram, along with some pictures of him and the comedian: “I love you @ategay08 The Lord is with us all. We will pray for you. Just keep fighting.
“Isaiah 41:10 promises God’s presence, strength, and help, while Psalm 41:3 speaks of God sustaining and restoring on a sickbed.
“Other verses include Psalm 147:3, which says God heals the brokenhearted, and Matthew 11:28-30, where Jesus invites the weary to find rest in Him.”

As of the writing of this article, Ate Gay has not yet released a statement regarding the illness she is going through.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time that Ate Gay has been afflicted with illness.
In March 2021, he was also in the hospital for several weeks after being diagnosed with pneumonia.
According to Ate Gay, she considered her recovery from pneumonia a miracle because it gave her a second life.
In April 2021, he developed a rare and serious skin condition called toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN).
According to healthline.com, TEN is an “adverse reaction to medication like anticonvulsants or antibiotics.”
Its main symptoms are severe peeling and scarring of the body.
Something that can be seen in Ate Gay’s post while she was in the hospital—an oxygen tube was inserted into one of her nostrils, and her lips were blackened due to the wound.
