I admit, I was hurt,” says Marian Rivera about Karylle’s answer when asked on The Buzz if Marian is pregnant. 

Last to arrive si Marian Rivera for the second grand press conference of Desperadas 2, one of the two entries of Regal Entertainment in the 2008 Metro Manila Film Festival, at noon today, December 15, at Imperial Palace Suites.

Directed by Joel Lamangan, the cast that arrived was almost complete including her four “sisters”: Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado, and Ogie Alcasid; as well as their leading men Jay-R, Christian Vasquez, TJ Trinidad, Will Devaughn, and Carlo Guevara.

Marian’s leg is still in a cast and she first went to her doctor to fix it. When Marian sat next to Rufa Mae, an unnoticed incident happened. Opposite him is one of the veteran writers who, just before Marian arrived, was already angrily recounting an incident regarding Marian’s alleged “plasticity”. The writer promised that he would tell the actress face to face if she ever came.

Coincidentally, when Marian arrived, she sat right in front of the writer at the presidential table. When they made eye contact, the writer bluntly said, “You’re plastic!” before it stood up.

Rufa Mae who witnessed the incident was also surprised. But because they are still at the presidential table and the question-and-answer portion is continuous, they cannot stand up and ask questions.

In Karylle’s interview with  The Buzz  yesterday, December 14, the ex-girlfriend of Dingdong Dantes only smiled at Boy Abunda’s final question if Marian was pregnant. So the last question to Marian at the presscon was if she was pregnant, as written. ( Click here to read related articles  .)

Marian smiled first and laughed at her first statement. “Can I just answer with a smile?” he said.

Then she answered face to face, “I’m not pregnant.”

He continued, “I was hurt by her [Karylle] because if I was asked such a question, I would answer, ‘I don’t know anything about that’ or ‘I’m not in a position to answer that.’ There was malice in his smile-smile. I admit, I was hurt.”

Not once did Marian mention Karylle’s name. He used to call her only “him” and “she”.

This is when Marian’s voice started to scream and her eyes turned red.

“I was really offended,” he said. “I’m not stupid and I’m not young anymore to make a mistake like that to get pregnant. I still want a lot to happen in my career and if that happens, I’ll be the one to tell you. Also, if Dingdong and I become boyfriends, I’ll be the first to admit it because I’ve been proud of everyone who’s been my boyfriend.”

He added, “She [Karylle] can answer because she knows something. I hope he didn’t just go through it with a smile-smile.”

The interview got even hotter when a veteran writer commented on the microphone that maybe Karylle thought this was because she and Dingdong might have had something going on before they broke up.

The press reacted so much to this statement that the question-and-answer was quickly cut short. It was Marian who was mobbed by the press.
