“I’m Free”: Nadia Montenegro Opens Up About Life After Resignation
Nadia Montenegro’s recent resignation as the political affairs officer of Senator Robin Padilla has sparked much discussion. Though the circumstances leading to her decision were challenging, many recognize her choice as a graceful act of professionalism and integrity.
By stepping down, Nadia demonstrated her respect for the Senate as an institution and honored the public’s expectation that those serving in government roles uphold the highest standards. Prioritizing principles over position requires courage — a quality Nadia showed in abundance. Her decision was not a sign of weakness but of true professionalism.
Nadia and I have been friends since the 1980s. Her lively spirit and zest for life have always been part of who she is. It’s unfortunate that she has been subjected to harsh judgments fueled by speculation and rumor. Public opinion can be unforgiving, especially in moments like these, often driven by hearsay rather than facts.
It’s important to note that her resignation should not be mistaken for an admission of wrongdoing. Rather, it reflects her desire to maintain her dignity and integrity amid difficult times.
After the controversy surfaced, I reached out to Nadia, and with her permission, I’m sharing her message:
“Thank you, Sis. I’m back home with my family. I missed my old life. I’m free. Sometimes, life surprises you in unexpected ways. I’m truly grateful for the journey. Next week, I’ll be opening a canteen for a large company, and by the end of the year, I’ll be launching another concept in Quezon City. I’m returning to my love of cooking and vlogging. I missed the simplicity of my normal life. My job at the Senate was demanding, with barely any time off, but I have no regrets. I was given a chance to make a positive impact on many lives and to offer hope.”
Liza and Her Grandfather
In a different note, after watching Liza Soberano’s recent heartfelt conversation about her childhood struggles, I was reminded of a video often shown in GAOC dental clinics across Metro Manila. The clip features Liza’s dental check-up and how she sought the help of Dr. Mark Gan, the owner of GAOC, for her grandfather’s dental needs.
Dr. Gan is the trusted dentist of many celebrities. Liza’s radiant smile in the video reflects her gratitude for the care her grandfather received. It’s touching to see how she cherishes her grandfather, and one can only hope that he continues to enjoy good health and happiness.
Sid Lucero Stars in Psychological Horror Film ‘Posthouse’
Sid Lucero teams up with Bea Binene in the psychological horror film Posthouse (“PH”), directed by Nikolas Red in collaboration with his brother Mikhail. The movie, a joint venture between Viva Films and Evolve Studios, is now showing in cinemas nationwide.
Posthouse revolves around vintage film reels that blur the lines between reality and nightmare. Sid plays Cyril, who, along with Bea’s character Rea, attempts to uncover a missing reel and the truth behind a murder, all while confronting dark forces both supernatural and personal.
In an interview, Sid shared the challenges of playing Cyril:
“The hardest part was aligning with the creator’s vision. At first, I felt like I was in the dark, but trusting my team helped me find the right path.”
He added what makes PH stand out from typical horror films:
“Most horror movies are just for entertainment. This one tackles the impact of trauma passed through generations, making it deeply personal.”
When asked about remaking a film from his late father, Mark Gil’s work, Sid expressed interest in modernizing classics like Mike de Leon’s Batch 81 or Peque Gallaga’s Kid Huwag Kang Susuko.
Lance Carr’s Rising Star
Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Lance Carr is gearing up for bigger projects, including the new show Minamahal, alongside Andres Muhlach and Ashtine Olviga. Managed by Viva Artist Agency, Lance is focused on establishing himself as a leading actor.
Reflecting on his career, Lance shared:
“I was the last addition to the ‘University Series,’ so I got a lot of mixed reactions. I can’t control how people perceive me, but I welcome constructive criticism and will keep doing my best.”
He also talked about his popular on-screen partnership with Aubrey Caraan:
“We’ve built a fandom together and support each other both on and off camera. We respect our boundaries, which is why our partnership works well.”
Lance revealed it took six years after PBB for him to land a lead role, almost prompting him to quit showbiz for basketball. But seeing fan-made videos of himself and Aubrey still gives him joy and motivation.
On the possibility of a real-life relationship with Aubrey, Lance said they’re taking things slow, still figuring out whether to keep things professional or explore something more.
Nadia’s story reminds us that life often takes unexpected turns. Her journey back to a simpler life filled with passion and family is a testament to resilience and the power of new beginnings. Meanwhile, the entertainment industry continues to thrive with fresh projects and stories that captivate audiences nationwide.
