Arnold Clavio reacts to Pepsi Paloma movie teaser

Veteran broadcaster Arnold Clavio shared his views on the movie teaser of “The Rapist of Pepsi Paloma.” Directed by Darryl Yap.

On Facebook, Arnold said:

“EHEM: The trailer or teaser of the movie The Rapist of Pepsi Paloma for the year 2025 has been released.

And here, Bossing @vicsottoofficial’s name is boldly mentioned as the ‘rapist’ of the hanged former bold star Pepsi Paloma or Delia Smith in real life.

The director can hide in artistic freedom but not in existing laws. Unless the court has a public record based on the accusation. Maybe that was the intention, to shock!

This issue has been troubling Filipinos for decades. Whenever there are major problems, this issue is always a distraction.

But I remember, in @juliusbabao’s interview with Coca Nicolas, Pepsi’s friend, that the rape issue was a ‘gimmick’ and just a fabrication by their manager – the late Dr. Rey Dela Cruz.

Two Sottos are running in the 2025 Elections. Former Senate President Tito Sotto, Vic’s brother, and Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig City, Vic’s son with actress Connie Reyes.

The person behind the movie is causing controversy and this outcry is clearly a request for sympathy. Because it is unclear whether the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) will allow it with open defamation or slander. Who is the source of information for the scene that was seen? Or is this part of a dream of the characters?

Let’s not forget that the current Chairman and CEO of MTRCB is none other than Lala Sotto-Antonio, Titosen’s daughter and Vic’s niece.

“Remember, in the world we live in, respect for others and decency should not be lost. There are norms and ethics that must be followed.”
