BREAKING: Chiefs waste no time, signing two-time Super Bowl champion CB just 6 hours after Titans release to replace Trent McDuffie — fans are thrilled with this immediate response! Is this the game-changing move the Chiefs need to dominate the secondary, or is there more to come? The pressure is on for this new addition to deliver!

Kansas City, MO. The Kansas City Chiefs entered the 2026 offseason knowing their secondary would look very different after a series of major roster moves reshaped the defensive backfield.

Kansas City recently agreed to a blockbuster trade sending All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for multiple draft picks.

While the move helped the Chiefs prepare for future contract extensions and free up financial flexibility, it also created a noticeable hole in the cornerback room.

With McDuffie gone, Kansas City’s CB unit suddenly lacked a proven veteran presence capable of anchoring the outside coverage responsibilities in Steve Spagnuolo’s defense, leaving the front office searching for an immediate solution.Có thể là hình ảnh về bóng đá và văn bản cho biết 'คี 38 BREAKING NEWS! " "COMING BACK TO KANSAS CITY MEANS EVERYTHING To ME. THIS ORGANIZATION GAVE ME MY FIRST REAL OPPORTUNITY IN THIS LEAGUE, AND I'LL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL FOR THAT. ' EXCITED TO BE BACK WITH MY BROTHERS, BACK IN THIS DEFENSE, AND CHASING THAT THIRD SUPER BOWL RING TOGETHER WITH T CHIEFS."'

That solution arrived unexpectedly when the Tennessee Titans announced they were releasing veteran cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

According to team sources, the Chiefs immediately moved to sign Sneed just six hours after the release, agreeing to a one-year “prove-it” deal worth $7 million.

Sneed is no stranger to Kansas City. The veteran defensive back was originally drafted by the Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft and quickly developed into one of the most versatile players in the team’s defense.

“Kansas City is where everything started for me,” Sneed said after finalizing the agreement. “Coming back here means a lot. I know the system, I know the locker room, and I’m ready to help this team win again.”

During his first stint with the franchise, Sneed played a key role in a defense that helped Kansas City capture two Super Bowl championships, becoming a trusted piece in Spagnuolo’s aggressive defensive scheme.

Two years ago, the Chiefs traded him to the Tennessee Titans, where he later signed a four-year, $76.4 million contract. Unfortunately, injuries limited his availability and impact over the last two seasons.

Sneed appeared in just 12 games across the past two years, which ultimately led the Titans to release him in a move that saved the franchise more than $11 million in salary cap space.

Now back in Kansas City, the 29-year-old two-time Super Bowl champion gets an opportunity to reset his career on a short-term contract while helping stabilize the Chiefs’ secondary following McDuffie’s departure.

For the Chiefs, the move represents a quick and calculated response to a sudden roster need. By immediately bringing back a player who already understands the defense and locker room culture, Kansas City may have found the perfect short-term replacement in its cornerback room.
