From Rehab to Runway — Brittany Mahomes Shines as Patrick Mahomes Eyes Comeback

While Patrick Mahomes continues a long recovery from a season ending knee injury, his wife Brittany Mahomes shared personal news that brought a different kind of spotlight to Super Bowl week.

Mahomes suffered a torn ACL and LCL in his left knee during Kansas City’s December 14 game against the Chargers. Surgery followed days later, and the quarterback has since entered a structured rehabilitation program. The expectation remains that he will be available for the Chiefs’ opening game of the 2026–27 season, a timeline that has kept optimism alive within the organization.

On Thursday, February 5, Brittany revealed that she is featured on the 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit digital cover, a milestone moment that coincided with the NFL Honors ceremony in San Francisco. Although she has appeared in the publication before, this marked her first time being selected as a cover model.

The shoot was photographed by Katherine Goguen in Fort Myers, Florida, and included fellow cover participants Christen Goff, Claire Kittle, Haley Cavinder, Ronika Love and Normani. The group worked at the South Seas resort on Captiva Island, a 330 acre property along Florida’s Gulf Coast known for its sweeping views and natural setting.

Sports Illustrated highlighted Brittany’s background beyond modeling. She is a certified personal trainer and fitness entrepreneur who played professional soccer in Iceland before retiring. In 2020, she became a co owner of Kansas City Current, the NWSL franchise based in Kansas City, and has since played a key role in shaping the club’s culture.

Her influence extended beyond the field in 2024, when she helped bring CPKC Stadium to completion, the first stadium in the world built specifically for a women’s professional sports team. Brittany is also a mother of three, balancing business leadership with family life.

Patrick Mahomes was present during portions of the SI shoot, according to the publication, wearing custom outfits in Chiefs colors of red, gold and white. The moment underscored the couple’s shared visibility even during a season defined by adversity.

Throughout Mahomes’ recovery, Brittany has remained publicly supportive. Shortly after his injury, she shared an image of him walking off the field with the caption “My guy,” a quiet but resonant show of solidarity that drew widespread support from fans.

As Mahomes focuses on rehabilitation during the offseason, Brittany’s SI Swimsuit cover represents a personal achievement unfolding alongside his comeback journey. The couple did not attend NFL Honors this year, but their presence during Super Bowl week reflected a broader theme.

Even in a season without postseason football, the Mahomes family continues to move forward, balancing recovery, resilience, and milestones beyond the game.
