Viral Marikina Road Rage: Only One Famous Celebrity Was Involved, Netizens and Celebrities Admire the Discipline of Others, and Criticize the Road Violence Before Christmas

A viral road rage incident went viral on social media this past week, two days before Christmas, in Marikina City. The scene, captured at the intersection of Riverbanks Avenue, brought great shock to the public, not only because of the violence on the road, but also because a well-known celebrity was involved in the chaos , who remained silent and did not issue a statement, while other motorists and witnesses were praised for their good behavior.

According to video footage captured by netizen @miguelmarikina, there was a physical altercation between two groups: a convoy of white and gray cars and a pickup truck. Tensions quickly escalated—there was choking, slapping with slippers, and fighting that almost reached the passengers. In the midst of the chaos, a well-known artist, said to be in the gray car, seemed to be caught up in the incident. But fortunately, he remained quiet and did not participate in the violence, causing others to pay more attention to his actions.

Many netizens expressed shock at the viral video, while praising the drivers and witnesses for acting properly and with discipline :

“It’s funny and makes me proud that those who were not involved in violence. They showed that it’s possible to be calm even in stressful situations,” said one commenter on Twitter.

“Even with the artist, it’s clear that the majority of people have controlled themselves. Kudos to them,” added one.

Aside from netizens, several local celebrities also reacted to the viral video. Maui Taylor expressed his disappointment:

“Heyyyy Filipinos… It’s Christmas, is this all?”

RK Batagsing was joking but with an undertone of commentary on violence:

“Exchange gifts are given in abundance,”

while Kakai Bautista expressed amazement:

“It’s Juskow!!!!!!”

Alwyn Uytingco gave lighthearted advice:

“Why don’t you.. give hug on Christmas day?”

Aki Torres , in his witty comment, added:

“Their love language is physical touch.”

The public also praised several motorists and witnesses for their good behavior. Bela Padilla noticed a foreigner who was just watching the incident and commented:

“The white dude’s just happy to be there,”

While Gino Quillamor , a radio jock, criticized the strangulation of a driver, which although stopped the violence, caused panic:

“Rando used jumping rear naked choke hold and it was somewhat effective?”

Valeen Montenegro added humor:

“They are each their own enemy, eh,”

and Alex Medina expressed confusion:

“The problem is, I don’t know who to side with.”

The viral footage also shows witnesses who helped break up the chaos , including several passengers in the vehicles, who were praised by netizens for their quick and correct actions.

“Their group was fighting the convoy, but thanks to those who were able to hold on and control the situation,” said a Reddit user.

The incident took place at the entrance to the mall parking lot . According to a statement from the Marikina City Police, an altercation occurred at around 3:30 PM on December 23, 2025, when a pickup truck and a convoy of white and gray cars collided.

“There was a car ahead of them that had already entered. Then our pickup followed—they couldn’t enter because the one in the white car was blocking it. It wasn’t until the Vios and pickup came face to face, that the physical altercation began,” explained Police Colonel Jenny Tecson.

Those involved were brought to the police station. An initial settlement was reached , while the violations will be assessed by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the Land Transportation Office . The possibility of drivers or passengers filing complaints against each other is also open.

Despite the chaos, it was clear that many people were impressed by the discipline and orderly reaction of the crowd , including several celebrities who went viral for their statements and simply highlighting right and wrong on the road.

“Even though there are famous artists in the scene, we see that the real stars here are those who are able to control and prevent trouble. This kind of discipline is needed especially during Christmas,” said a netizen.

This viral road rage became a public lesson : every action on the road has an impact, and anyone can be included in the viral chica—even if it’s just a silent one. It also showed how humor, criticism, and admiration mixed on social media as each individual’s actions were scrutinized.

Ultimately, the Marikina road rage is not just a story of traffic violence; it is also a story of resiliency, discipline, and the right way to deal with chaos , allowing the public to admire what is right and criticize what is wrong. A well-known artist remained silent, reminding everyone: sometimes, being a silent observer is more important than being part of the chaos .

As the issue continues to be discussed on social media, many are asking: Will the artist make a statement, or will netizens continue to count his silent stance as viral road rage?

“NEARLY 20,000 PEOPLE CAME FOR KEITH URBAN — AND LEFT WATCHING HIM CRY.” Backstage felt quiet in a strange way. Nicole Kidman bent down, smoothed a sleeve, and whispered, “I’m right here.” Out front, nearly 20,000 people waited for Keith Urban to do what he always does. Instead, a child stepped into the light. She didn’t wave. She didn’t look around. Her eyes went straight to her father. The first note shook. Then it held. Not perfect. Just real. Keith didn’t rush in. He barely touched the strings, like he was holding the moment steady for her. Halfway through, his smile faded. His eyes filled. He let it happen. No big ending. No pose. Just a family meeting in the middle of the stage. And for a few quiet minutes, no one cared about applause. Because love was louder.
