The three-time Super Bowl winner has been known to give his teammates lavish gifts as December rolls around each season.

In 2024, exclusive photos obtained by PEOPLE showed their locker room lined with red Yeti Tundra Haul wheeled coolers. The coolers retail for $425 each, and Mahomes opted to fill the cooler with more gifts instead, including Normatec Elite air compression leg attachments by Hyperice, Rolex watches, Lucchese leather boots, Oakley sunglasses, WHOOP bands and products from Adidas’ Black Y-3 line. Mahomes’ gift-giving comes after he sustained two torn ligaments during the Chiefs’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last week. He tore two ligaments — his ACL and his LCL — on a play late in the game, while the Chiefs were attempting to score on their final drive and save their season.

After Mahomes was helped off the field, Kansas City failed to score and was mathematically eliminated from the NFL Playoffs for the first time in more than a decade.

Even injured, Patrick Mahomes made sure his O-Line were well taken care of during the Christmas

The Chiefs’ vice president of sports medicine and performance, Rick Burkholder, told reporters that the “ballpark” estimation for Mahomes’ recovery window is roughly “nine months,” meaning the three-time Super Bowl MVP is aiming to return for Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season.

The 2026 NFL season kicks off the week of Sept. 10, according to ESPN.

Mahomes has not spoken with reporters since the injury, but shared a message on social media underscoring his determination to get healthy and back on the field to start next season.
