Sofronio Vasquez REVEALED that his gender was questioned because of a surprising detail that he did not expect…

Aside from his vocal prowess, one thing we love about Sofronio Vasquez is how he always keeps it real when sharing personal stories. But what happens when he’s faced with tough questions and mystery drinks?
Everything You Need to Know About “The Voice”

In a fun-filled Kapamilya Chat episode, the “The Voice USA” champ took on the “Drink It Challenge,” where he must pick random questions to answer or down a shot of a mystery drink if he prefers to keep things under wraps.

The first question was, “What is the worst comment you’ve ever read about yourself?” Sofronio laughed and shared that he’s read comments like “too artistic” or “not good enough.”

But words don’t hurt him. In fact, they only fuel the fire inside him. “I love reading those comments… Hindi ako nasasaktan. Kumbaga, they need to do more bashing to make me hurt.”

In his journey as a kontesero, Sofronio has faced countless criticisms, but he learned to brush it off. “Kasi hindi naman kasama sa kanta ‘yun, eh.” So, even when people bring up his past defeats repeatedly, it only pushes him to work harder.

For Sofronio, those rejections actually keep him grounded. “You’ve been rejected so many times, so you have no reason to brag.”

He continued, “These moments, these people I see now, are growing up so fast. But I always remind myself that I also started dreaming.

And now being the winner of ‘The Voice,’ there seems to be no reason to brag. Just be grateful.”

When asked if there’s a part of his past he would want to go back to and change, Sofronio reflected on his time as a cruise ship singer.

In hindsight, he feels like he could’ve made that experience happier. “Sometimes, you’re lazy. I’m just sitting there in the room because I don’t have time, eh. I’m like an introvert at that time.

Every time after I sing, I go straight to my room. May maghahanap sa’kin kasi gusto nila makipag-bonding, pero ayoko.” He didn’t even take any photo because he didn’t get to enjoy the experience back then, as his focus was solely on earning money for his family.

But now, after learning how to socialize more, Sofronio realizes that his time on the cruise could’ve been more memorable if he hadn’t always chosen to be alone.

In another round, when asked about the kind of pressure he feels now as a champion of a global competition, he found it hard to answer and reached for a mystery drink instead.

Sofronio describes his life right now as very blessed, but he’s quick to give credit to the people who’ve been part of his journey. He’s especially grateful for his loyal supporters, whose energy fills him with so much passion every time he performs on stage.
