Finally, the long-awaited wish of Lian Paz and non-showbiz fiancé John Cabahug has come true.

Lian and John got married through a civil wedding ceremony.

This is based on a photo they shared on Instagram yesterday, September 25, 2025.

Lian wore a long-sleeved wedding gown, while John wore a Filipino barong and black pants.

The photo was taken at the municipal hall in Mandaue, Cebu, John’s hometown and the place where Lian has been based since she and John met.

John’s heartfelt caption: “I love you forever, Lian.”

Lian is a former EB Babes member who was active in managing John’s business.

John is currently a councilor in Mandaue since winning the May 2025 elections.

It was February 2021 when John proposed marriage to Lian.

But the couple couldn’t get married right away because Lian’s annulment from estranged husband Paolo Contis was still ongoing.

They have been separated since 2012.

It’s been a while since Lian gave an update on her annulment case with Paolo.

By early 2013, Lian and former schoolmate John’s paths unexpectedly crossed again.

They exchanged vows, and eventually decided to move in together and live in John’s hometown in Cebu.

For the past more than a decade, Lian told PEP that she has witnessed how devoted a father John is.

John is also said to be the father of Lian’s two children with Paolo, Xonia and Xalene.

Lian’s communication with Paolo gradually improved.

In August 2025, Paolo made public the restoration of communication between him and Lian’s children.

And Paolo thanked Lian and John for letting him talk and see Xonia and Xalene again.

During Lian Paz and John Cabahug’s wedding, an unexpected incident occurred that left everyone momentarily stunned. While the ceremony was going on smoothly, an item accidentally fell out of Lian Paz’s bag. To everyone’s surprise, it was a pregnancy test. Lian had planned to tell John about it after the ceremony, wanting the moment to be private and special for the two of them.

When the test fell to the floor, the guests couldn’t help but notice, and a murmur ran through the crowd. John looked at the item in disbelief, unable to immediately process what he was seeing. Overwhelmed with emotion, he broke down in tears right there in the middle of the ceremony. The atmosphere shifted instantly from joyous celebration to quiet shock, as everyone tried to absorb what had just happened.

Despite the surprise and initial awkwardness, John quickly composed himself and went to Lian. Seeing the test and understanding the news, he took her hands in his, and the couple shared a tearful, heartfelt embrace. Lian was slightly embarrassed but also relieved that the secret was finally out. The unexpected moment became an intimate and emotional experience, drawing them closer together in front of family and friends.

Though it was not the way they had imagined revealing such news, the incident ended up highlighting their love and commitment to each other.
