Pop powerhouse Kelly Clarkson joined country stars Kelsea Ballerini and Carly Pearce for a show-stopping performance of “You’re Drunk, Go Home” at the 56th Annual CMA Awards. The trio dazzled in coordinated blue gowns and denim accents, delivering a performance full of sass, attitude, and musical chemistry.

The song, a highlight from Ballerini’s latest album Subject To Change, is all about female empowerment and honesty, co-written with Julian Bunetta and Shane McAnally. Ballerini shared that Kelly Clarkson jumped on the track at the drop of a hat: “I asked Kelly to be a part of my song in the morning, and she went to the studio that night to record vocals.”

Clarkson, in her usual playful style, admitted that she had already been celebrating before recording the track. “I didn’t know I was going to be singing that day. I had to sing ‘You’re Drunk, Go Home’ a little inebriated while hitting soprano parts — but I made it work,” she joked.

The 2022 CMA Awards were packed with unforgettable moments beyond this powerhouse trio. The night opened with a tribute to the late Loretta Lynn featuring Carrie Underwood, Reba McEntire, and Miranda Lambert, and honored Alan Jackson with a Lifetime Achievement segment. Fans also enjoyed incredible collaborations from Thomas Rhett with Katy Perry, Chris Stapleton with Patty Loveless, and Ashley McBryde with Pillbox Patti, Brandy Clark, Caylee Hammack, and John Osborne, among others.
