Kapamilya actress and It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu is now receiving praise from her co-stars on What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim because despite the personal trials she is going through in life, she is still able to do her job well.
Actor Jake Cuenca greatly admired Kim Chiu because despite what she went through while their show was ongoing, she still showed professionalism.
It’s no secret that Kim Chiu just came out of a terrible breakup with her boyfriend of 12 years, Xian Lim, before they started taping the Filipino adaptation of the hit Korean series What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?
Kim Chiu also did not hide this from the public and her colleagues in the said series.
Meanwhile, according to Jake Cuenca’s statement in an interview, if they didn’t know that Kim Chiu was going through something and that she had just recovered from a severe heartbreak, they wouldn’t have noticed it on set because Kim Chiu was still very bubbly.
Jake Cuenca also expressed that he really enjoyed working on What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim? because aside from being a reunion project with Kim Chiu, he also got to work with Paulo Avelino, whom he considers his best friend.
Jake Cuenca was also asked if he noticed Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu becoming extra sweet on set behind the camera or if they are getting along well.
Jake Cuenca immediately responded that he doesn’t look at such things on set while working and that he respects the privacy of his co-workers.
Jake Cuenca also revealed that he doesn’t leave his tent either, he only comes out whenever it’s his turn to act but otherwise he just stays in his air-conditioned tent.
Even though Paulo Avelino is her best friend, she doesn’t ask him about private things. She just waits for him to tell her stories when he’s ready to tell them.
On the other hand, there are now photos circulating where Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu are seen holding hands while walking, further strengthening suspicions that the two are getting along.
Many suspected that the two were temporarily hiding their relationship to avoid controversy, especially since they both came from relationships.
