AiAi delas Alas refuses to speak with ex-husband Gerald Sibayan
Comedienne AiAi delas Alas is no longer on speaking terms with her ex-husband Gerald Sibayan.
AiAi was the guest star in the December 30 episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” which was marking its 500th episode with a two-part special handing out its Fast Talk Awards.
Boy asked AiAi to describe her 2024, which the comedienne compared to a television movie that started out as a romantic-comedy that became a horror where suddenly the electricity goes out.
She elaborated further on the movie analogy that what remains are the colored bars that often black out but also return, and the state of her heart was stop-and-go.
The host then asked AiAi if she and Gerald have met or talked since the comedienne confirmed Gerald broke up with her last October via text message. AiAi coincidentally confirmed their split on the same show.
“Of course… no!!” AiAi laughed. “I refuse to, from the time he said that to me, I haven’t communicated with him.”
The comedienne added she would only communicate with Gerald through other people like her son-in-law.
Asked how she manages to carry her problems, AiAi said she learned managing her affairs from her earlier relationship with Jed Salang, who was 20 years her junior.
“I was also shocked by that. I fought because it hurt, now there is no need for the fight to be noisy. You can just be calm, you will accept, [a] graceful exit,” AiAi shared.
For the actress-comedian, the past year taught her to love herself more and for women to maintain their dignity even when they are crestfallen.
Later in the show, AiAi said she still believes in love as it can be given in many different ways.
The comedienne served as the honorary judge for the 2024 Fast Talk Awards, where she picked out category winners from a bowl, except for the Best in Funny Chika award, where she selected herself and her good friend Arnell Ignacio as winners.
AiAi was also a nominee in that last category, Best in Fast Talk Paandar, but she still opted to randomly choose from the bowl and the award went to her cousin Ogie Alcasid.
