Ruru Madrid Admits Dating Barbie Forteza Was Basted Because Of The Slippers

In the latest episode of *Lutong Bahay*, a cooking talk show of GMA Public Affairs, Ruru Madrid gave surprising revelations in her conversation with host Mikee Quintos. Ruru shared a story about his youth and how he dated Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza.  

While they are busy chatting, Mikee asks Ruru about a part of her past, which has to do with her first attempts at love.  “Who did you date or bash you?”  Mikee asked Ruru. Ruru immediately replied, and admitted that he himself had been flirting with Barbie in his youth.

“I think I was only 14 or 15, Barbie [Forteza],”  Ruru said.  “I was 14, I dated him. I did, I gave him a slipper. I don’t know his size,”  he added.

Ruru explains that the slipper he gave to Barbie was a special gift.  “Because I remembered my uncle from abroad, then he brought home some slippers,”  said Ruru.  “Of course, because the slippers will be quite expensive, I said, ‘Here’s my flirting gift.'”

According to Ruru, Barbie accepted her gift of slippers. But what he didn’t expect was that it was not the right size for the actress.  “Those slippers I gave him were too big for him. As in, only half of his foot was in the slippers,”  he said.

This is where Ruru went to the very end of his story, and connected it to the reason why he was “binasted” by Barbie.  “Then, that’s the reason why he bashed me,”  Ruru looked back on the bad things that happened between him and Barbie.

Although Ruru’s story is funny, her honesty can still be seen in telling unexpected details from her youth. His simple act of giving a pair of slippers as a sign of courtship, which turned out to be a “huge mistake” due to the wrong size, gave way to a story of failure in love life. However, the story also gave satisfaction to the viewers because of Ruru’s openness and naturalness in revealing parts of her past.

These funny moments in the *Lutong Bahay* episode did not escape netizens and fans, and it quickly became the talk of the town online. Although there was a misunderstanding between him and Barbie, it didn’t seem to weaken their friendship.
