Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo were recently crowned as the Box Office King and Queen at the Box Office Entertainment awards for their outstanding performances in blockbuster films.

The pair was individually honored during the awarding ceremony held at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater at Ateneo De Manila University on Sunday, May 12.

Alden clinched the prestigious Box Office King award for his portrayal in the 2023 romance drama film, “Five Breakups and A Romance”, together with Julia Montes as his on-screen partner.

Meanwhile, Kathryn was crowned Box Office Queen for her remarkable performance in “A Very Good Girl”, alongside internationally acclaimed actress Dolly De Leon.

The award-winning duo also went viral for a moment they shared on stage where Alden extended his support by holding the actress’ hand as she descended the stairs to receive her trophy.

Viral videos also captured the sweet moment when the Kapuso actor appeared to have kissed the hand of the Kapamilya star.

The victory marks another milestone for Richards and Bernardo, who previously captivated audiences in the record-breaking film “Hello, Love, Goodbye” back in 2019.

It previously held the title of the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time until earlier this year, after being surpassed by Metro Manila Film Festival 2023 movie “Rewind”, the highly anticipated comeback movie of real-life couple Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
