The highly anticipated Filipino romance film of the year “Hello, Love, Again,” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards, is set to close the 10th Asian World Film Festival (AWFF).
According to the AWFF’s official website, “Hello, Love, Again,” will be screened on November 20 at the Culver Theater in California, United States.
“Determined to fulfill their promise to be together again, Ethan (Richards), in Hong Kong, and Joy (Kathryn), in Canada, strive to improve their lives. However, as the strength of their love is tested by distance, time, and unforeseen circumstances, they decide to part ways. Years later, they unexpectedly say their hellos once more. They rediscover each other, they navigate the complexities of their new lives, finding romance and rekindling their connection amidst the changes,” the synopsis reads.
With “Hello, Love, Goodbye” as the film festival’s closing film, the South Korean drama “A Normal Family,” will be the festival’s official opening film. It features Sol Kyung-gu, Jang Dong-gun, Kim Hee-ae, and Claudia Kim.
Meanwhile, Wong Kar Wai’s “In the Mood for Love” will be AWFF’s centerpiece film.
For this year’s AWFF Main competition, the film festival will exclusively screen 16 films previously submitted for the 97th Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. This includes films from Hong Kong, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and India, among others.
The film festival, which will take place from November 13 to 21, will showcase a diverse range of “new movies and special programs and celebrate Asian cinema’s legacy.
Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, “Hello, Love, Again,” will be showing in Philippine cinemas on November 13.
